Okay, I don’t get it right all the time. Flowering is a week early this year but nevertheless I remain a climate change sceptic as nothing has moved in the past 25 years, other than brief seven-year shift forward and then back again. Due to the change in pruning, the vines are carrying less fruit and canes than before and this might have something to do with the week advance. Due to high winds last week there was quite a bit of damage to the fruiting canes with many being blown out of the trellis only to be eaten by wallabies and broken off. Such is agriculture.
Always exciting to see the flowers, small as they are.
